糙米蟲與世界的狂想曲

　　最近他在這個小小園地出現的機會挺多的，也希望他在太陽的新賽季也能如此搶戲，如此的受到重視，他是鳳凰城太陽隊在休賽季新網羅的後衛 Isaiah Thomas ，號稱6呎（實際約5呎9，175公分左右）。



　　因為有一位老大在粉絲團的留言當中問到 Isaiah Thomas 和80年代的底特律活塞傳奇後衛 Isiah Thomas 是否同名，事實上兩人的名字念起來相仿，名字的字母則是差了一個「a」；不過要說到「IT」的命名，確實跟「運球教科書」Isiah Thomas 有那麼一點關連。

　　原來，Isaiah Thomas 在出生前，他的死忠湖人迷父親和朋友打賭當年（1989年）的總冠軍賽會由誰獲勝，Thomas 的父親 James 當然賭自己最愛的湖人隊，豈料最後的總冠軍卻被活塞給奪走，雖然當時小 Thomas 在冠軍賽比完時早就已經出生（他是2月7號生的，水瓶座），但是父親還是依約將兒子照對手主將 Isiah Thomas 的名字命名。

　　有趣的是， Thomas 的媽媽對此事大為光火，堅持兒子的名字不能亂取，至少也得照聖經走才行，何況 Isiah Thomas 是個讓對手球迷都恨得牙癢癢、走進球場會噓聲四起的球星，因此加上一個「a」改成「Isaiah」（以賽亞），作為兒子名字的定案。

Thomas was named after former Detroit Pistons Hall of Fame point guard Isiah Thomas when his father, James, bet his friend that his favorite team, the Los Angeles Lakers, would defeat the Pistons in the 1989 NBA Finals (which the Pistons won in a four-game sweep).

Even though the younger Thomas ended up being born months before the Finals took place, James had already warmed to the name. However, the boy's mother, Tina Baldtrip, insisted on spelling it 'Isaiah', as she desired a biblical name.

Because of his namesake's unpopularity among New York Knicks fans after unsuccessfully serving as head coach and team executive, the fans boo Isaiah Thomas whenever he plays in Madison Square Garden.

　　老爸幫他取名這麼有趣，他現在也跟孩子的感情極好，還開玩笑說兒子身材跟他一樣矮，長大一定會恨自己，所以兩個孩子還是乖乖去打棒球好了。整個 Thomas 家庭氣氛真的是溫馨又好笑啊，難怪這麼「愛家」的人會這麼喜歡太陽的家庭式團隊氣氛，希望能夠成為這個大家庭的一份子，體驗那種「被需要的感覺」。

　　我想，太陽跟 Thomas 真的是天作之合啊！
